15 August 2020 Service to Commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VJ Day

11am at The Church of St.Martin – in -the Fields, Trafalgar Square, London

Details will be available nearer the time.

The Church of St Martin-in-the-Fields has been booked for our commemorations, and preparations can now begin in earnest.

You can now begin to make your arrangements to stay in London for this event as once again NFFWRA have booked accommodation at the Union Jack Club, close to Waterloo station for the nights of August 14th and 15th 2020. On this occasion NFFWRA kindly request you to book your own accommodation, however, if you would be kind enough to advise us that you have done so by emailing: enquiries@nationalfepowfellowship.org.uk. This will enable us to ascertain arrangements for those who wish to join us for a gala dinner as part of the commemorations. NFFWRA will of course assist any FEPOW or widow with their booking.

The rooms are available as follows:

  • Single en suite rooms currently at a cost of £88.00 per room per night
  • Twin en suite rooms currently at a cost of £155.00 per room per night
  • Double en suite rooms currently at a cost of £155.00 per room per night
  • Standard singles without en suite facilities currently at a cost of £68.00 per night
  • Breakfast is currently £9.00 per person per day

These rates increase each January and the rate quoted is that of the current year. If your reservation is for next year or beyond you will be charged the rate that is current on your arrival date.

An approach has been for an appropriate speaker to address us at the service but it is too early at this stage to reveal any details to you! Watch this space!

Transport from Norwich and surrounding locations will once again be provided for a day trip and to cover the 2-night stay should there be sufficient interest. We hope that as in 2015 many commemorations will take place around the country enabling everyone to pay their respects and to ‘Remember’ wherever they might be.

We warmly welcome all members of FEPOW/Far East related organisations and those who support their work to St Martins.

If you would like more information or are interested in applying for a ticket for the service, please get in touch by emailing us at: enquiries@nationalfepowfellowship.org.uk
